Terms of service

The rules for buying and using Northbound Gear.

These terms describe the basic rules for using the storefront, placing orders, and using outdoor products purchased from Northbound Gear.

Orders

Accepted after review

Orders may be reviewed for payment, inventory, address quality, and risk.

Outdoor use

Customer responsibility

Customers must use gear safely and follow manufacturer guidance.

Policies

Shipping and returns

Shipping, return, privacy, and support pages are part of the purchase flow.

01

Store use

Customers agree to use the storefront lawfully and provide accurate information during account creation, checkout, support, and returns.

  • Do not misuse the storefront, interfere with security, scrape restricted areas, or attempt unauthorized access.
  • Account holders are responsible for keeping login credentials secure.
02

Product information

We work to keep descriptions, images, prices, stock status, and compatibility information accurate, but errors may occur.

  • If a material pricing, inventory, or product-information error is found, we may cancel or correct the order before fulfillment.
  • Images may show product context or prior packaging; the product description and selected variant control the purchase.
03

Orders and payment

An order is submitted when checkout is completed. Acceptance happens after payment status, inventory, address, and risk checks are complete.

  • We may cancel orders that appear fraudulent, unsupported, restricted, or impossible to fulfill.
  • Payment authorization or capture does not guarantee shipment until the order passes review.
  • Taxes, shipping, and discounts are calculated during checkout and may vary by destination.
04

Shipping, returns, and refunds

The shipping and returns pages explain delivery timing, carrier issues, return eligibility, and refund timing.

  • Customers must provide a deliverable address and monitor tracking once supplied.
  • Returns require support approval before products are shipped back.
05

Outdoor responsibility

Outdoor activities involve risk. Customers are responsible for choosing appropriate gear, checking weather and terrain, and following manufacturer instructions.

  • The catalog is not a substitute for training, route planning, emergency preparation, or professional guidance.
  • Do not use damaged, recalled, or inappropriate gear in the field.
06

Liability limits

To the extent allowed by law, Northbound Gear is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from store use or product use.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so these limits may not apply to every customer.

07

Changes

We may update these terms and related policies as the storefront, catalog, fulfillment process, and legal requirements change.
